If a website gives a detailed guide for measurements, I feel more confident when ordering. Forums, blogs and communities create a kind of collective memory for shoppers. I think sharing honest feedback helps other buyers avoid the same mistakes. If buyers say the item runs small or large, I always adjust my choice accordingly. A simple pair of glasses or a basic jacket that always works is worth a lot.  
 
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Price is important to me, but quality and comfort are even more important in the long run. I recently tried a few different online shops and wanted to share my experience. Otherwise they become clutter in the closet after the trend is over. Online shops that show detailed measurements and care instructions usually get my attention.
